The Menopause Society of Sri Lanka
Founded in Sri Lanka in the year 2000, the Menopause Society of Sri Lanka has drawn interest not only among the medical professionals but the general public as well, who constitute a sizeable section of its membership. The MSSL not only strives to educate the professionals and the public, but also endeavour to achieve a better quality life for Sri Lankan women in the post reproductive life. It has developed links with the other professional bodies and social services organizations and conducted workshops to enhance the knowledge of post reproductive issues.
History of Menopause Society of Sri Lanka
It was a sunny day in march 2000, when there were few people with a common agenda gathered at the Board room of the Castle Street hospital for Women in Colombo, a premier institution caring for women, a teaching hospital of much repute.
Dissemination of Information
From the very inception , the council of the SLMS got going and the annual academic sessions was a regular feature, which were well attended and the overseas faculty always comprising of eminent personalities in the field of menopause.

There was a clinical meeting on post reproductive health care at RDHS Office puttlam on17-12-2010. Dr Hemantha Perera President of srilanka menopause society,Dr Mangala Disanayaka Hon.Secretary Dr.MDP Gunaratna Founder President,Dr Prasad Rannulu,Dr Sanath Lanerolle,Dr Rohana Hattotuwa,and Dr atttended to this meeeting.
